Cranswick Successfully Complete More Together Challenge

Cranswick have raised over £13,500 for various local charities following their completion of the More Together charity initiative. Cranswick teams have participated in the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge, Total Warrior obstacle race and the Humber Bridge Family Walk & Fun Day.  

Woodall’s Charcuterie Wins Coveted Good Pig Award at Good Farm Animal Welfare Awards 2017

Woodall’s Charcuterie has been awarded the prestigious Good Pig Award by the Good Farm Animal Welfare Awards.  The awards, organized by the world’s leading animal welfare organisation, Compassion in World Farming, took place on 28th June.

Cranswick Win Training Scheme of the Year 2017 at the Meat Management Awards

Cranswick has received an award for the second year running at the prestigious Meat Management Awards. This year, the business has been recognised for its successful Management Development Programme after winning recognition for the Graduate Training scheme in 2016. The programme was developed to provide employees with the opportunity for continuous learning through tailored training and development.

Cranswick Team Beat Total Warrior Challenge

On Saturday 24th June, 33 Cranswick employees dared to complete the challenging Total Warrior obstacle course in Leeds, as part of ongoing charity project, More Together. This was the second activity to be successfully completed in the More Together calendar, with a team of over 377 members from across 17 Hull based businesses participating in the event. The Cranswick team, confronted with mud, fire and ice, endured 12 kilometres and 30 obstacles to finish the event and raise over £3,000 for a range of charities.

Cranswick Team Take to the Track in Humber Bridge Sportive

This year’s Humber Bridge Sportive, of which Cranswick were Principal Partners, saw 750 cyclists cycle to raise money for The Ellie Penrose Fund. The Cranswick team geared up for the sell-out event on Saturday 18th June which has raised over £20,000 for the charity. The event, now in its fourth year, offered riders a choice of either 22 mile, 42 mile or 62 miles route which commenced alongside Family Fun Day celebrations at Hesslewood Hall for family and friends.

Cranswick Lead EU-China Collaboration to Tackle Food Fraud

Cranswick have announced their partnership with The Institute for Global Food Security at Queen’s University Belfast to help lead one of the world’s largest food safety projects across Europe and China. The European Horizon 2020 programme have secured €10 million towards an EU-China partnership to improve food safety, combat food fraud and restore consumer trust.

Determined Team Tackle the Yorkshire Three Peaks

On Saturday 10th June, almost 100 Cranswick employees completed the gruelling Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge as part of an ongoing charity initiative, More Together. Along with 17 other Hull based businesses, a total of 550 people battled through the challenging weather conditions, in a bid to raise money for various charities. The group climbed a total of 1,585 metres during the challenge, which took in the summits of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborogh.

'Bangers & Dash' Team Complete Charity Challenge for Bloodwise

11th June 2017

On Saturday 10th June, a group of 4 Cranswick employees raised £2,129 as part of the gruelling Samworth Charity Challenge. The team, consisting of John Leonard, Matt Briggs, Andrew Toon and Dan McCormack, endured an 8.9 mile run up Skiddaw Mountain (3000ft of climbing), a 4.5 mile canoe row and a 20 mile bike ride whilst having to navigate an obstacle course in a bid to collect points along the way.

Sutton Fields Site in Hull Celebrates Fundraising Success

The charity, established in 1992, provides specialist palliative care for patients with incurable illnesses throughout the Hull and East Riding of Yorkshire region. Their care is provided by a multi-disciplinary team and includes in-patient care, day therapy units, family support, physiotherapy and occupational therapy. Since their services are provided free of charge to patients and their families, Dove House Hospice rely heavily on support from the local community.

Cranswick Win Green Manufacturer Award at Made in Yorkshire Awards

The event, which was held at the Royal Armouries in Leeds on Thursday 20th April, is organised by Insider Media with the aim of celebrating successful companies based in Yorkshire and the Humber region.

Cranswick were pleased to attend the crowning of Yorkshire’s Best Young Chef at The Golden Apron 2017 competition as one of the main event sponsors. Celebrating its fourth year, the awards are run by James Mackenzie, the chef and owner of the Michelin-starred Pipe and Glass, the Yorkshire Wolds Cookery School and farming company JSR.
