Gold standard in fighting hunger
The products we make have always been in high demand from FareShare’s network of charities, and through our continued diversification of the business, we offer a wide range of surplus product to the network.
In total, we have now provided enough food to FareShare to make three million meals (based on 140g serving size of protein per meal) and support those suffering with food poverty.
We have also been awarded Leading Food Partner status which means we have been recognised by FareShare as achieving the gold standard when it comes to tackling food waste within our operations – an achievement we are immensely proud of.
Our work with FareShare has extended to the Coronation Food Project, coordinated by The King Charles III Charitable Fund. This project commits to tackling food waste and food insecurity across the United Kingdom by supporting FareShare alongside food redistribution charity The Felix Project to create a more sustainable future.
This landmark initiative sees Cranswick partnering with Sainsbury’s and Greencore, through the FareShare Manufacturing Alliance, to supply more than 1 million meals to help families and individuals, who are at risk of hunger and food poverty during the winter months.
“We are delighted to be working with Sainsbury’s, Greencore and FareShare to support the launch of the Coronation Food Project; collectively providing enough food to supply over 1 million nutritious meals this winter. Cranswick have a long-standing relationship with FareShare, having already donated over 3 million servings of meat this year to those in need, and we are pleased to add further support to this important cause.”
