Cranswick, alongside SURE Solutions, has won the Environmental Collaboration of the Year award at the RAC Cooling Industry Awards 2023.
The Cooling Industry Awards, now in their twentieth year, are the biggest and most prestigious awards in the refrigeration and air conditioning sector, celebrating the industry’s achievements on all fronts, including innovation and environmental progress.
Back in 2017, Cranswick began working in closer partnership with SURE solutions as part of the Second Nature sustainability strategy. Together, they have been working to reduce Cranswick’s carbon footprint by removing Hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) from its supply chain whilst simultaneously reducing energy consumption in heating and cooling processes.
In relation to the most recent project at Cranswick’s Prepared Poultry site, the design of the controls of the refrigeration plant in maintaining its floating conditions reduced the site’s carbon footprint by 1774kg CO2 per day, approximately 647 tonnes CO2 per year.
