Warehouse Manager
Cranswick Gourmet Sausage Co. (Lazenby’s) is our fast-paced sausage facility located in Hull. Using only the best cuts of British pork, fresh herbs and spices, Cranswick are the UK’s leading producer of gourmet sausages and burgers, supplying major retailers and foodservice outlets alike. We are currently recruiting a passionate and enthusiastic Warehouse Manager to join our aspiring team.
We are currently looking for a Warehouse Manager role for join our expanding team working Monday to Friday. The ideal candidate will be managing the Inbound and Stores team ensuring the manager and development of a multi skilled, multi disciplined team operating on shifts in a unionised environment.

The main duties of the role include (but not limited to)
- To manage the receipt of dry goods in compliance with customer specifications, food hygiene regulations, health & safety legislation and best practice.
- To manage intake and despatch yards including the recycling area and storage of crates and pallets – including any offsite locations.
- The management and development of a multi skilled, multi disciplined team operating on shifts in a unionised environment.
- Plan daily stock checks of the area and monitor any anomies in stock ensuring route cause is established.
- Daily cockpit meetings are on all shifts discussing the day ahead and anything for future reference.
- To drive cost benefits with recycling methods and best practice and investigate new ways of working.
- To ensure contractual obligations with hire companies for pallets & trays ensuring the factory is always supplied in a timely manner.
- To review all SOP’s and review and rewrite where necessary ensuring a verification process in place is to ensure compliance.
- To manage all the onsite MHE ensuring there is a recorded log of all work carried out.
- To ensure the 4-hour plan is followed ensuring that a OTIF for all production needs.
- To cover in time of holiday and absence the Intake / Despatch Manager
Requirements, experience and person specification:
Qualifications:
- Level 3 Food safety
- Group and site induction.
- Level 3 in H&S. Either IOSH Managing Safely or Cranswick equivalent
- Degree qualified or equivalent industry experience (Min 2 years) in Logistics and Warehouse discipline
Experience / Knowledge:
- All relevant risk assessments and safe working procedures are reviewed and to current methods.
- Hazards and near miss reporting training.
- Accident investigation training Navision & MRP experience preferred, to include reporting functions.
- IT literate, able to work confidently with email, word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software.
- Experience of managing multiple direct reports, preferably over several different shift patterns
- Extensive knowledge of process controls systems in a FMCG environment.
- Extensive experience of measuring and presenting KPI performance data.
- Able to clearly demonstrate a track record of effective Warehousing and Picking management from an operational perspective.
- Familiarity with business processes outside of core rope such as NPD, Finance, Commercial, Production, HR and Planning is desired as an aid to cross-functional working.
