Ware­house & Dis­patch Supervisor

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Warehouse & Dispatch Supervisor to join the team at our Wembley site.

Job Purpose:

Warehouse & Dispatch Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day warehouse and dispatch operations, ensuring products are stored, picked, loaded, and delivered efficiently, safely, and accurately while meeting operational and customer requirements.

Main Duties:

  • Supervise daily warehouse and dispatch operations to ensure all orders are picked, loaded, and dispatched on time.
  • Lead and support Picking operatives, ensuring staffing levels and resources are effectively managed.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety procedures, food safety standards, and company policies at all times.
  • Monitor stock accuracy, stock rotation, and inventory control processes.
  • Coordinate goods-in and goods-out activities, including vehicle loading and unloading.
  • Ensure dispatch paperwork, delivery documentation, and system (CMEX) transactions are completed accurately.
  • Monitor operational performance, productivity, and KPIs, taking corrective action where required.
  • Investigate and resolve operational issues, stock discrepancies, and dispatch delays.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Conduct team briefings, training, and performance management activities.
  • Liaise with Production, Planning, Transport, and Third part Transport teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Ensure warehouse housekeeping standards are maintained to a high level.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and development of Picking team members.
  • Manage shift handovers and communicate operational priorities effectively.

Requirements, Experience and Person Specification:

  • Group and site induction.
  • Level 2 H&S awareness.
  • Understanding of relevant risk assessments and trained as competent to safe working procedures.
  • Understanding and application of hazard identification and near miss reporting.

Operational & Logistics Skills
You need a solid understanding of dispatch processes—routing, scheduling, and load planning. Being able to coordinate deliveries efficiently and respond quickly to delays or disruptions is essential.

Leadership & Team Management
Supervising dispatch staff means setting expectations, monitoring performance, and keeping the team motivated. You’ll often be the point of contact when issues arise, so calm decision-making matters.

Communication Skills
Clear, timely communication with drivers/ Transport company, warehouse staff/ Picking team is critical. You’ll be handling updates, instructions, audits and sometimes internal Non complaints, so professionalism and clarity is required.

Problem-Solving & Decision-Making

A good dispatch supervisor can think quickly and adjust schedules without disrupting the whole operation, problem solving is a requirement.

Time Management & Organisation
You’ll be juggling multiple tasks, tracking shipments, managing staff, updating systems, coordinate the picking team; so being highly organised and able to prioritise is key.

IT & Systems Knowledge
Familiarity with dispatch or logistics software ( SAP/NAV/SYSPRO/SAGE), and basic reporting tools (like Excel, Word).

Attention to Detail
Accurate documentation, correct delivery information, and compliance with regulations are all part of the job.

Health & Safety Awareness
Understanding transport regulations and ensuring drivers follow safety procedures is essential, especially in regulated industries.

Experience

At least three years’ experience in Warehouse and Dispatch activities.
