Cranswick is a leading UK food producer with revenue of over £2.6 billion. We produce and supply premium food to high profile UK grocery retailers, the food service sector, and other UK and global customers.

We are currently seeking a Trainee Supervisor to be based in the Bulk department. The purpose of this role is to, working under the guidance of the Supervisors, effectively manage the Bulk packing area, ensuring that the targets are achieved.

Main Duties Include (but not limited to):

  • Responsible for supervising all aspects of a designated area from delivering a best quality product to ensuring product yields are met at all times
  • To ensure planned outputs are achieved precisely, economically and to the predetermined quality standards.
  • Conduct CCP checks relevant to the area being worked in and report any none-conformances through the proper processes
  • Ensure closure of any CCP none-conformances raised and proactive prevention of repetition
  • Improve processes and practices
  • Ensure clarity of role for team members, including assigning of tasks, coaching and providing feedback
  • Effective labour planning to limit reliance on overtime working within the department
  • Review and update the training requirements of the department in line with current legislation and changing departmental operations
  • To identify hazards in the workplace and to take corrective action or initiate controls to minimise the risk
  • To effectively promote Health, Safety and Environmental awareness within your areas of control
  • Ensuring that all HSE information relevant to “preventative and protective measures” is communicated to your subordinates
  • Carry out activities with full awareness of their impact on the environment, both in terms of people and the local area
  • Effectively manage energy and waste within the department

What We Look For:

  • Experience in a similar role - Supervisor/Team Leader/Line Leader/Skilled Operative
  • Experience managing teams within an FMCG environment
  • Evidence of working towards KPIs and producing positive results
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Strong level of attention to detail
