Temporary Night Hygiene Team Leader
Cranswick Gourmet Bacon is looking for a motivated and hands-on Temporary Night Hygiene Working Team Leader to join our Night Hygiene team at our Sherburn-in-Elmet site.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced hygiene professional who enjoys leading by example, maintaining high standards, and supporting the development of others within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
Work Hours: 3 on 1 off 3 on 7 off
Pay Rate: £17.50 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support a team of Hygiene Operatives during the night shift
- Ensure all cleaning tasks are completed to the required standards and records are accurately maintained
- Carry out cleaning duties alongside the team, with approximately 50% of the role dedicated to cleaning and 50% to team support and supervision
- Monitor hygiene standards to ensure equipment and production areas are cleaned effectively and safely
- Conduct regular 1-2-1 meetings with team members and support their development
- Promote a strong health and safety culture, ensuring all team members understand and follow site procedures
- Complete Take 5 assessments, safety observations and relevant documentation
- Liaise with Production Team Leaders and Managers to ensure areas are released for cleaning according to schedule
- Support the Night Hygiene Manager in the absence of the Hygiene Supervisor
- Train and support new starters and seasonal colleagues where required
What We're Looking For:
- Previous experience within a hygiene or food manufacturing environment
- Experience leading or supervising a team
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
- Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Positive and flexible approach to work
- Ability to motivate, coach and develop team members
- Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of food safety, quality and hygiene
