Cranswick is a leading UK food producer with revenue of over £2.6 Billion. We produce and supply premium food to high profile UK grocery retailers, the food service sector and other UK and global customers.
An exciting new vacancy has come up within our Cranswick Riverside site. Riverside opened in 2012 to act a satellite site to our primary processing facility in Preston, Hull. Riverside produces fresh and added value pork for major UK retailers. The site has undergone recent and significant factory investment with a focused future strategy, delivering best-in-market supply chain standards and creating a quality culture that puts our customer’s needs at the forefront of all our decisions.
Due to internal promotion, we are now recruiting for a Technical Services Manager. The purpose of this role is to develop and maintain site quality management systems, to ensure compliance to customer codes of practice, Cranswick manufacturing standard and that required standards and legislative requirements are met.
Main Duties Include (but not limited to):
- Maintain and develop the site QMS to provide a robust and reliable platform of conformity that supports all operations of the sites Allergens/Integrity/ Internal audit and HACCP systems
- Management and development of the Specification, Technical Administrator and Compliance Officer
- Ensure that all customer queries and complaints are logged and dealt with in a timely manner
- Participation in the investigation and documentation of responses to non-conformities raised via Internal Audits, Second- or Third-Party audits to ensure closed out on time
- Leading Internal Audit program to ensure site consistently meets regulatory, customer, BRC, and internal audit standards
- Drive continuous improvement through the site via Internal Audits, technical projects and systems
- Proactive preparation and management of third-party audits, pulling together required information and presentations
- Leading independent projects as and when the need arises, ensuring that all company, legislative, customer and Third-Party accreditation body standards are considered
- Advising other members of the Senior Management Team about quality, food safety and legislative requirements, including food safety culture and integrity
- Management of Pest Control
- Leading TACCP to ensure training, awareness and regular reviews keep site protected and compliant
- Deputising the Technical Manager in their absence at site, divisional, and customer meetings
- Participation in the process design, validation and implement any additional system requirements
- Governance for development of site-based procedures to ensure compliance to Cranswick Manufacturing stand, customer Codes of Practice, 3rd party accreditation standards and the legislative requirements
- Working closely with the Site Technical Manager, site leadership team and the Cranswick Technical Group function, the role delivers KPI relating to Quality, Value, Innovation and People (QVIP) in line with the Group Technical plan, as well as delivering site-based objective
- Support implementation of the Technical Strategy as well as Food Safety & Quality Culture plan
You Will Have:
- Experience in a similar role: Technical, Quality Assurance
- Experience working within a food manufacturing environment
- Extensive experience working in compliance, leading audits, and facilitating customer visits
- High level of food safety and compliance: HACCP/Lead Auditor/Listeria
- Strong management skills and examples of leading a team
