Stock & Logistics Manager

Purpose of Role |
Effectively and efficiently manage the stock control and Logistics requirements for the North Scarle facility, in line with the required customer specifications, minimizing costs where possible and ensuring that the required best working practices are maintained at all times. Controlling the despatch team to ensure picking plans are covered to give a 100% service level. To control all stocks on site & outside storage (within the CMEX & NAV systems) ensuring the planning, sales ordering and finance departments have accurate stock counts, whilst flagging up any age issues that might result in OOD ingredients and finished goods. Site waste management. Manage intake and weighbridge teams to ensure smooth and efficient site deliveries to agreed time scales. |
Key Responsibilities |
- Control the stock of all ingredients / packaging and finished goods stocks on site and if stored offsite
- Control the transport network to ensure stocks are in the right place at the right time to cover customer orders in full.
- Ensure the sites operating systems are available for all onsite teams to facilitate their jobs in an efficient manner.
- Manage stock ages to ensure the sites management are aware of stocks both OOD and at risk
- Review stock capacity constraints and discuss this with the site teams on options to alleviate.
- Constantly assess the product specifications and customer requirements maintaining best quality products at all times and implementing changes where necessary.
- Expedite operations that delay schedules and alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
- Prepare a daily reports for the appropriate Senior Managers and Departmental Managers (including service levels and Potential stock @ risk)).
- Ensure that the target productivity level is achieved daily in line with site and customer requirements.
- Communicate and liaise with other Departmental Managers regarding throughput of stock and to ensure production targets are met and service level is achieved on time in full (OTIF).
- Ensure contact with sales and customer services on Retail any availability issues is up front and prompt.
- Challenge current processes and practices, with a view to improve.
- Effective labour planning to limit reliance on overtime working within the department.
- Maintain knowledge of relevant legislation, internal company policies and procedures, codes of practice, technical specifications, COSHH regulations and developments in H.A.C.C.P systems relevant to the department.
- Review and update the training requirements of the department in line with current legislation and changing departmental operations.

- Has an intermediate to Advanced knowledge of Excel / CMEX and NAV systems
- Has a working history of Stock control and Logistics functions
