Cranswick is a leading UK food producer with revenue of over £2.6 Billion. We produce and supply premium food to high profile UK grocery retailers, the food service sector and other UK and global customers.
We are currently recruiting for a Technical Specifications Technologist. Reporting directly to the Site Technical Manager, acting as part of the site technical services team and working closely with the product development team, you will lead the specification build and artwork approval for a key customer account, and support on wider business-to-business specifications. This is a site-based role.
Main Duties Include (but not limited to):
- Build product specifications for the key retailer account as part of the launch process.
- Writing, reviewing and maintaining the internal specification systems to ensure they reflect customer specifications.
- Review artwork in line with updated legislation, customer technical and labelling policies and include all regulatory changes.
- Management of deadlines and communication surrounding critical paths to launch for retail products.
- Document procedures to ensure that internal and customer compliance is met and the relevant process development practices are adopted.
- Review raw material specifications for legibility, legality, and compliance.
- Ensure that all QAS documents and internal specifications are accurate, published and maintained.
- Attend Changes, Launches and Delist Meetings and customer facing specification meetings to be kept up to date of all product information for the site.
- Maintain artwork and specifications databases as required.
- Supporting with customer visits and audits in relations to specifications as so required.
- Completion of customer questionnaires and surveys in relation to specifications and site supply chain.
You Will Have:
- Knowledge of writing specifications for retailers in a food manufacturing environment.
- Formal legal labelling training or qualification.
- Knowledge and experience of retailers' web-based specification systems.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with a high standard of literacy.
- Allergen awareness training advantageous.
