Job Purpose:

An opportunity has arisen for Slow Cook Operatives to join the Slow Cook team on a fixed term contract. To work as part of a production team in the manufacture of products that exceed customer expectations whilst adhering to all required standards, meeting, and exceeding quality standards, achieving targets on time and in full, within budget behaving in a safe manner, ensuring Food Safety and maintaining hygiene standards.

Main Duties

  • Operate just in time process ensuring material is available to minimise changeovers and downtime
  • Ensure log conditioning is to the correct standard prior to loading machine; including facing up of the logs.
  • Control product giveaway
  • Maintain and adhere to Food Safety standards at all times
  • Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices such as :
  • Hand washing, Support other areas of manufacturing when directed
  • PPE requirement, Changing procedures ,Clean as you go
  • Comply with all hygiene standards, Only operate equipment, machinery, and tools where training has been provided
  • Adhere to all quality standards
  • Follow all Standard Operating procedures
  • Achieve the production plan

Requirements, Experience and Person Specification:

  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred
  • Successful completion or willing to undertake training in L2 Food Safety and L2 Health and Safety Principles
  • Understanding of relevant risk assessments and trained as competent to safe working procedures
  • Understanding and application of hazard identification and near miss reporting
  • Mechanical aptitude, Forward thinking and planning skills, Reliable
  • Ability to work within a team, Attention to detail and Meets QVIP values
