Sales Ledger Assistant
We are currently recruiting for a Sales Ledger Assistant to join our Finance team at our Sherburn in Elmet site.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an organised and detail-oriented individual to join a busy Finance department within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will support the smooth running of the sales ledger function while building strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
The role would suit someone with previous finance or accounts administration experience who is looking for a flexible working pattern within a supportive team environment.
Hours: Reduced hours – 20 to 30 hours per week (days and working hours negotiable)
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for financial and sales ledger queries
- Raise and process customer invoices accurately and on time
- Allocate cash remittances and reconcile customer accounts
- Carry out credit control activities, including chasing outstanding debt
- Maintain and update sales ledger records accurately
- Support wider functions within the Finance department as required
- Build positive working relationships with customers and colleagues
- Ensure confidentiality and accuracy when handling financial information
- Assist in meeting departmental deadlines and targets
What We’re Looking For
Essential Skills & Experience
- Educated to GCSE level, including Maths and English
- Good IT skills and confidence using Microsoft Office systems
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Reliable with good timekeeping
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexible and adaptable approach to work
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience within a sales ledger or accounts environment
- Knowledge of Microsoft Navision or Microsoft Business Central
- Experience within FMCG or food manufacturing environments
- Understanding of common financial terminology
