Cranswick is a leading UK food producer with revenue of over £2.6 Billion. We produce and supply premium food to high profile UK grocery retailers, the food service sector and other UK and global customers.
We are currently recruiting for a Quality Systems Technologist on a maternity cover contract. Responsible for assisting with the completion of all traceability and mass balance systems for meat, ingredients, and packaging. In-part responsible for maintaining the site quality manuals. Completion of primal and export specifications. Responsible for assisting with the completion of any customer questionnaires in a timely manner. Responsible for the administration and archiving of technical documentation. Supporting technical management and wider technical team. Ensuring that all activities comply with food safety, quality, integrity, and legality.
Main Duties Include (but not limited to):
- Completing customer traces in a timely manner.
- Assist with the completion of all scheduled traceability’s and mass balances on meat, ingredients and packaging for the site ensuring that they adhere to customer codes of practice.
- Assist with the maintenance of the site crisis management system for this site including participating in mock recalls as per schedule with the wider team.
- Assisting with any site withdrawals and /or recalls as per the group crisis manual.
- Responsible for the completion of primal and export specifications when required.
- Completing supplier approval questionnaires on time as and when required.
- Assist with the maintenance of the quality manual and systems for the site.
- Assist with ensuring that all approved supplier lists are distributed to other departments.
- Responsible for ensuring that all technical documentation is scanned, filed, and archived so that it is easily accessible for site audits and traceability’s
- Writing and reviewing check sheets and procedures to ensure they are compliant with customer code of practice and legislation as and when required.
- Sending items for repair and calibration and ordering new items when required – monitoring the calibration register.
- Issuing purchase order numbers for the technical team, receipting orders, and uploading delivery notes to the NAV system and checking technical invoices to ensure they are aligned with the purchase orders.
- Supporting the Technical team with customer visits / site audits.
- Covering for other members of the Quality Systems team in their absence.
You Will Have:
- Experience in a similar role – Technical/QA
- Previous experience of FMCG manufacturing (preferably food related)
- Ability to work to deadlines
- Attention to detail, good communication skills
