QA Technician
Cranswick Gourmet Kitchen is supplying high quality cooked product to a number of market leading customers. The goal of our food manufacturing site, Cranswick Gourmet Kitchen, is to produce quality cooked food for market leading customers. We are looking to recruit a number of QA Technician to work either Sunday to Thursday or Tuesday to Saturday 6:00-14:30. Acting as part of a hands-on Technical team, the main purpose of the role will be to monitor quality system compliance and effectiveness through planned audits and independent process control checks to ensure that products comply with legislative, key company & customer requirements.
Hours - Sunday to Thursday or Tuesday to Saturday 6:00-14:30
Pay - £14.78 per hour
Key Responsibilities
- Monitoring quality system compliance through regular checks/audits
- Performing independent process control checks
- Reporting any system failures to the relevant department managers in a timely manner, so that corrective action can be taken promptly
- Understanding the implications of food safety failures and reporting any issues
- Working with all departments to support in the completion and getting to the root cause of non-conformances.
- Completing verification audits across all process systems and documents through the site's paperless system.
- Conducting GMP, CCP and procedure challenges on a weekly basis
- Covering key tasks during the absence of key staff within the technical department
- Collecting various samples (i.e. shelf life, nutritional, swabs) according to customer / legislative requirements and established sample schedule.
The successful candidate will have:
- Minimum Food Safety Level 2
- Minimum HACCP Level 2
- Experience in Quality Assurance / Control, preferably within a High Risk Food Industry
