QA Team Leader — Days
Cranswick Country Foods Poultry is a specialty producer of delicious, cooked poultry ingredients and leading innovators in our industry. We create exciting, original products that meet the needs of today’s busy consumers. Working closely with customers across retail, food service and B2B, our bespoke chicken and turkey products offer creative and flavoursome lunchtime solutions, including street food-inspired dishes, superfood salads, hot and cold sandwiches and much more.
The main purpose of the role is to manage the QA team to ensure that the day to day tasks are completed so that the site complies with all relevant legislation and customer requirements
The key elements of the role are:
- To assist Factory Technical manager in the operation of the systems to ensure compliance to internal, third party and retailer requirements
- Ensure that the Cranswick traceability system is correctly operated through all stages of production manufacture from raw material intake to finished product despatch
- Ensure raw materials arriving in the department are of a specified quality and standard
- Assist the Factory Technical manager and the technical manager with customer site visits and other third party audits
- Assist in the training of new members of the team, ensuring they quickly become capable of working to the highest quality standards
- Ensure that the process of manufacture is audited against the agreed standards
- Issue the Factory Technical Manager with a daily summary of non-conformance incidents that have arisen and any other information required
- To promote, monitor and maintain a high standard of hygienic practice and quality, and ensure good manufacturing practice within the factory.
- Monitor finished product against agreed specifications. To take appropriate corrective actions as required and escalate as appropriate.
- Conducting accompanied hygiene audits with the departmental hygiene teams.
- Manage the day to day activities of the QA team
