Pur­chas­ing Executive

Role Description

Working in our purchasing team at the Cranswick Continental Site in Bury, Greater Manchester providing analytical and administrational support to the Purchasing Managers and when required the wider business to support with supplier engagement and development. Responsible for entering customs data onto the correct systems, maintaining price files and developing ways of working across new and existing products and supply chains.

This role would suit a recent graduate wanting to build a career in Supply Chain or purchasing in the Food Manufacturing industry.

Role Duties

  • Support both supplier and commercial challenges working with the Purchasing and Supply Chain teams
  • Work with New Product Development and Technical in the briefing new and existing suppliers on npd/epd projects and provide feedback through the process to the supply base
  • Managing the supplier information database
  • Monitoring and resolving price differences in a timely manner
  • Support the suppliers & product import requirements, including Commodity Codes & Tariff Quotas
  • Support the Quality & Performance controller in achieving the correct buying specifications
  • Ensure supplier complaints are managed effectively, and all costs are recovered
  • Clearly communicating to the sales and finance teams any price increases, new prices and price amends and maintaining the price file
  • Monitoring the critical path of new product launches both in house and externally and communicate to the manage the supply base.
  • Completing all weekly and monthly Purchasing documents and assisting in the production of monthly board reports.
  • Attend relevant meetings when requested in a minute taking capacity
  • Assisting in the organization of meetings with suppliers and the preparation of all meeting documentation including purchase data analysis, power point presentations
  • Liaise with stock control to ensure samples are ordered correctly and don’t impact deliveries.
  • Administrate the new product and supplier setup process
  • Audit current supplier portfolio and set up in terms of lead-times, shelf life, packaging accreditation, delivery method etc and update NAV where applicable.
  • Any other ad hoc duties required to support the team.
