Cranswick is a leading UK food producer with revenue of over £2.6 Billion. We produce and supply premium food to high profile UK grocery retailers, the food service sector and other UK and global customers.

We are currently recruiting a Purchase Ledger Clerk to join the Finance team at our Preston site, the largest and busiest in the area. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for the processing of delivery notes and purchase invoices, raising queries internally and externally as required to ensure payments are made on time.

Main Duties Include (but not limited to):

  • Process all delivery notes
  • Process purchase invoices, checking purchase orders and proof of delivery, in a timely manner to meet payment due dates and raise any specific queries with departmental managers
  • Act as the primary finance point of contact for all designated suppliers, including confirmation of payment dates, queries or credit requests relating to particular invoices, regular review of suppliers statements and follow up any discrepancies
  • Act as a holiday / absence cover for the Purchase Ledger team where required
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding the work that is carried out

What We Look For:

  • Experience in a similar role - Purchase Ledger Clerk
  • Experience within a busy office environment
  • Strong level of IT skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Able to work to deadlines and remain calm under pressure
