Cranswick is a leading UK food producer, with annual revenues exceeding £2.6 Billion. We are proud to produce and supply premium food to high profile UK grocery retailers, the food service sector and other UK and international customers.
We are currently seeking Line Leaders (Nights) to join our Retail Production Department at the Preston site - our primary Pork facility within the Hull and East Riding region. With significant ongoing investment and expansion, this is an exciting opportunity to be part of a fast-paced, forward-thinking site with plenty of scope to contribute and develop.
The Line Leaders will be accountable for all processes within the areas directed by the shift manager/retail manager, to support completing the daily production plan to the required quality and in line with customer specifications.
Main Duties Include (but not limited to):
- To be responsible for the attainment of production targets as directed by the Shift Manager / Retail Manager
- Maximise efficiencies of all available resource and ensuring BAT at all times, or if this is not possible, reported to the relevant person in a timely manner
- Pre-operational startup checks; including controlled documents, equipment check sheets, fabrication sheets, hygiene standards and line labour management
- Liaise with the Delford Operatives and QA’s to ensure all WIP documentation and operational checks are completed to the required standard
- Act as a product specific expert where appropriate, working with other departments and disciplines in a manner to share and train own knowledge
- Understand hourly performance vs target, identify issues and deliver actions to ensure that performance targets are achieved
- Comprehension of position vs plan and be looking ahead to ensure that correct people, equipment and materials are available for the plan to be delivered
- Train and support operators to achieve correct quality standards
- Ensure accurate recording of yield, labour, efficiencies, waste and other key metrics
What We Look For:
- Experience in a similar role: Line Leader, Team Leader, Supervisor, Experienced Skilled Operative
- Previous experience of fast moving consumer goods manufacturing (preferably food related)
- Proven track record of leading a team
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment to meet daily targets
- Problem solving skills
- Excellent communication skills
