Summary
We are looking for a Process Development Technologist to join our Gourmet NPD team at our Sherburn site.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering New Product Development (NPD), EPD and VAVE projects, supporting products from concept through to successful factory launch.
You will act as the bridge between development, technical and operations, ensuring all products meet customer expectations, technical standards, and operational requirements.
Responsibilities
Support and deliver NPD, EPD and VAVE projects from approval through to launch
Work to critical paths, ensuring projects are delivered on time and to standard
Maintain accurate project documentation to audit-ready standards
Plan, lead and support factory trials
Ensure smooth product scale-up from kitchen to factory
Support product launches and provide guidance to production teams
Ensure all products meet customer, technical and food safety standards
Complete and manage documentation including specs, artwork and trial records
Support stage & gate processes and internal/external audits
Work closely with Production, Technical, Hygiene and H&S teams
Communicate project updates and escalate risks where required
Build strong relationships with internal teams and customers
Identify opportunities for product improvement and cost efficiency (VAVE)
Support innovation aligned to customer briefs and site strategy
Qualifications
Experience within food manufacturing or NPD/process development
Strong understanding of factory processes and food production
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication, organisation and attention to detail
A hands-on approach – comfortable working both in factory and office settings
Passion for food and delivering high-quality products
Full UK driving licence (required due to occasional travel)
