Pg Stockperson — Doncaster
Location: Doncaster, South Yorkshire
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, with alternate weekend working
About the Role
At Wold Farms Ltd, a subsidiary of Cranswick, we are a leading player in the UK's agricultural sector, breeding and rearing pigs to RSPCA Assured standards.
An opportunity has arisen at our outdoor unit for a Pig Stockperson to join the team. This is a great opportunity for the right person to join our fast-paced ever-growing business with a bright future.
Key Responsibilities
- Feeding, moving and handling the pigs
- Loading and unload pigs as required by the unit’s production system
- Ensuring that animal welfare is in accordance with Company policies (Red Tractor Assured Standards)
- Ensuring that the five freedoms in respect of animal welfare are followed
- Adhering to Company Codes of Practice and Policies at all times
- Ensuring that all Feed Systems/Water systems and all other equipment is in good working order and fixing faults and report any defects immediately to your Line Manager
- ·Reporting any site damage immediately to the Line Manager
- Understanding the importance of biosecurity and security of the unit
- Ensuring that the unit is always kept clean and tidy and presentable to visitors with regular pressure washing being essential
- Where applicable, ensuring all buildings and compounds are secured out of working hours
About You
- Experience with livestock or an agricultural background is preferred
- Ability to prioritise and complete tasks with strong attention to detail
- Self-motivation and a good work ethic
- Less experienced candidates to be open-minded and dedicated to learning the role responsibilities
