Office Administrator — Hessle

Office Administrator

Location: Hessle, East Yorkshire
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week

About the Role

We’re looking for a highly organised, approachable and proactive Office Administrator to become the central point of contact for our busy farming office. This is a varied role where no two days are the same. You’ll be the friendly face that welcomes visitors, answers incoming calls and keeps the office running smoothly, whilst providing day-to-day administrative support to the Office & Corporate Manager and the wider team.

Alongside general office administration, you’ll be responsible for coordinating the administration of the farming fleet, ensuring vehicle records, documentation and processes are kept up to date. Some weeks this area of the role will be particularly busy, while others will allow you to support a wide variety of other office activities and projects.

We’re looking for someone who genuinely enjoys helping others, takes pride in being organised, and is happy to get involved wherever needed. A positive, can-do attitude is essential, as is a willingness to support employee engagement activities, social events and initiatives that help create a welcoming and collaborative workplace.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for telephone enquiries and visitors to the office.
  • Welcome visitors and manage the reception and entry point professionally.
  • Provide general administrative support across the Farming division.
  • Support the Office & Corporate Manager with day-to-day administration and business activities.
  • Coordinate the administration of the company fleet, including vehicle records, documentation, inspections and driver paperwork.
  • Order and maintain office stationery, supplies and refreshments, ensuring stock levels are maintained.
  • Handle general office queries and direct requests to the appropriate teams.
  • Assist with meeting room bookings, visitor arrangements and hospitality where required.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure administrative tasks are completed to agreed deadlines.
  • Identify opportunities to improve office processes and contribute to creating an efficient, well-organised working environment.
  • Provide additional administrative support to the wider business as workloads require.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic, dependable and enjoys working with people. You’ll be someone who naturally spots what needs doing, takes ownership of tasks and enjoys supporting others.

You’ll have:

  • Previous experience in a busy administrative or office support role.
  • Experience of supporting senior managers or directors.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships at all levels of the business.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied workload.
  • A proactive, flexible approach and willingness to help wherever needed.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work accurately.
  • A friendly, positive and approachable manner with a strong customer service focus.
  • The ability to prioritise work and remain calm during busy periods.
  • Experience administering company vehicles or fleet processes would be advantageous but is not essential, as full training will be provided.
