NPD Kitchen Assistant

We are looking for a motivated NPD Kitchen Assistant to join our team on a full time basis. The successful candidate will play an integral part of the NPD Kitchen with a key role in sample creation, ensuring this meets both the customer and company expectations. Preforming general duties within the kitchen and factory to support the day to day running of the department.

Main Duties Include:

  • Be an integral part of the NPD Kitchen
  • Conduct benchmarking panels and communicate results internally and externally
  • Create, complete and update sample submission documentation ensuring all submissions are executed to company and customer requirements
  • Collection of stock, including raw material and finished goods.
  • Sample preparation for both internal and external presentations, including the use of machinery such as bowl chopping, sausage filling and bacon slicing.
  • Assist with cooking for internal and external presentations and presenting products with accuracy, finesse and professionalism
  • Support with catering for hosting on site visits and external events
  • To build and maintain a relationship with internal stakeholders.
  • Keep abreast of food trends
  • To demonstrate good housekeeping practices and ensure the kitchen is kept neat, organised and tidy at all times
  • Other duties as required to support the success of the department and business overall
  • Travel is required to customers and other Cranswick sites
  • Be conversant with four strategic pillars (QVIP). Champion this within the department and the wider site
  • Challenge processes and practices within the department and suggest improvements where necessary
  • Ensure that all statutory (industry guidelines), legal, food safety & customer requirements are met
  • Ensure adherence to all standards and processes relating to CCP monitoring, glass, complaints, label verifications and other paperwork in your area
  • Cooking Instruction creation

Requirements, Experience and Person Specification:

Qualification

  • English Language and Maths GSCE A* - C / 9 - 4
  • Computer literacy
  • Food Safety L2
  • Full Valid Driving Licence (preferable)
