Night Shift Oper­a­tions manager

Cranswick Country Foods Poultry is a specialty producer of delicious, cooked poultry ingredients and leading innovators in our industry. We create exciting, original products that meet the needs of today’s busy consumers.

Purpose of the role is to maximise profitability, reduce waste and develop continuous improvement strategies for production and hygiene functions, whilst ensuring quality, legal and safety standards for all production and operation facilities.

The key elements of the role are:

  • Manage and mentor the heads of production and hygiene to develop and maintain a continuous improvement culture.
  • Implement training and development plans for Managers and Team Leaders, identifying internal talent for succession planning
  • Work in conjunction with the Technical Department to support the department leads in maintaining the quality and legality of products in line with customer specifications and standards, whilst also ensuring GMP and technical requirements are adhered to.
  • Work closely with the senior team to - identify opportunities to improve product quality and customer satisfaction, empowering managers and leaders to be accountable for their department.
  • Ensure managers and colleagues maintain an acceptable level of conduct in line with company policies and procedures leading by example at all times, addressing breaches accordingly with relevant support functions.
  • Ensure production areas are maintained to ‘audit ready’ standards at all times and that all team members trained effectively to deliver the standard.
  • Ensure that department managers/leads are both aware and in control of appropriate KPIs such as (but not exclusively) labour, yield and waste.
  • Lead development through mentoring/coaching for your team on continuous improvement strategies, supporting them with the implementation of new manufacturing procedures, ensuring they understand such processes in order for them to take responsibility for maintaining them and improving them further as and when required.
  • Act on decisions with the required amount of urgency
  • Able to foresee changes in demands and act accordingly
  • Ensures that the team consistently achieve set standards and strive to set higher standards
  • Continuously and constructively challenges the current way of doing things

This role is designed to look after night shift operations therefor expected working hours are 5pm-2am, however does require flexibility
