Multiskilled Engineer

The goal of our food manufacturing site, Cranswick Gourmet Kitchen, is to produce quality cooked food for market leading customers. We are looking for two motivated, Multi-Skilled Engineers with extensive experience working within food manufacturing environments to join our team at ‘the Gourmet Kitchen’ to work on the night shift working on a 4 on 4 off basis 18:00-06:00.
The role will focus on maximising efficiencies by ensuring manufacturing downtime is minimised and continuously striving to improve the equipment to meet the business's operational needs. As an experienced multi-skilled engineer, you will resolve engineering issues and be involved in the commissioning and implementation of new equipment at the site. The main duties of the role include:
- Maintain machinery and equipment to optimum standards safely with minimum downtime
- Provide a rapid response to breakdown situations and utilise time effectively to ensure known jobs are completed in a succinct timeframe
- Ensure high standards of housekeeping are maintained
- Ensure the efficient usage of spare parts, consumables, and equipment
- Ensure that all health and safety and food hygiene procedures are always adhered to
- Maintain open and constructive lines of communication with the Production Department
- Liaise and escalate with all levels of management across all functions relating to engineering activities.
- To decrease time lost due to breakdowns
- Satisfactory completion of the Planned Preventive Maintenance schedule
- Responsible for the ongoing support of daily ‘start-ups’ in the production area
Requirements/ experience:
- Have experience in chilled food FMCG (preferred), working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Be qualified to HNC/NVQ Level 3 in any engineering discipline
- Be Electrically biased or fully multi-skilled
- Be health and safety conscience (qualifications are desirable)
