Main purpose of the role- Assist in the development of new and existing products, ensuring they meet customer requirements and Cranswick standards, while supporting the delivery of successful and timely product launches.
The key elements of the role are:
- Supports NPD & EPD projects from initial ideation to handover to process for the Cranswick Cooked Poultry site.
- Adheres to the site stage and gate process and ensures accurate completion, record keeping and communication to key stakeholders throughout the NPD process.
- With support, ensures adherence to critical path for their projects up to handover.
- Prepare development samples, recording the relevant data and writing recipes.
- Assist in recipe development, ensuring products are suitable for site operational capabilities, comply with codes of practice, and meet retailer briefs and brand standards.
- Organises samples ready for despatch and completes sample submission paperwork accurately with support.
- Supports with the sourcing of new raw materials and packaging, working with ingredient suppliers to include initial RM specification review, support handover of RM details to technical team for new RM & Supplier Approval, and considers MOQ, shelf life and usage is appropriate for each ingredient.
- Attends site feasibility meetings and, with support, highlights any ingredients or recipes highlighting those that may have challenges, require validation or are not possible in addition to considering product performance during scale up.
- Supports internal and customer panels, understanding what a good job looks like for panel etiquette.
- Supports customer visits, internal panels and benchmarking with shopping for samples as required.
- Owns the annual benchmarking rota, facilitating panels, recording and analysing results, and supporting the delivery of the EPD benchmarking plan.
- Maintain the development kitchen, ensuring it operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with food safety and health & safety standards.
Shift pattern: Monday to Friday
