Inbound Area Leader

The goal of our food manufacturing site, Cranswick Gourmet Kitchen, is to produce quality cooked food for market leading customers. A rare opportunity has arisen to apply for an Intake Area Leader.

We are seeking a driven individual to manage the Intake of products and the receipt of chilled goods, ensuring compliance with customer specifications, food hygiene regulations, health & safety legislation, and best practices. The management and development of a multi-skilled, multi-disciplined team operating on shifts in a unionised environment. The role will also be expected to drive cost benefits with contracts, efficiency, and time management. To ensure contractual obligations with hire companies for pallets, trays and dolavs are fulfilled. To reduce waste and put out-of-stocks items

Lastly, the successful candidate will learn stores and Despatch to be able to cover holidays and absence.

Shift - 4 on 4 off 17:45 to 06:00

Pay - £20.25 per hour

Main duties include:

  • Strong Working relationships are expected across all internal and external contacts
  • Systems and Policies are to be highly credible and presented in robust formats.
  • Driving systems-based processes for compliance with MRP, NAV and other software used in the business
  • Conduct appropriate activities to develop and deliver areas of responsibility in weekly/monthly/annual timeframes
  • Demonstrates a clear understanding of current best practice, potential cost benefits, and strategic developments
  • Demonstrates an ability to lead, develop and manage staff
  • The Intake Are Leader will be expected to operate at Senior Team Level, making a positive contribution in any relevant forums or working parties

Candidate Requirements:

  • Degree qualified or equivalent industry experience in Logistics and Warehouse discipline
  • A flexible, adaptable, can-do attitude with the ability to learn quickly
  • Excellent communication and motivational skills
