Hygiene Supervisor

We are currently looking for a Hygiene Supervisor to join our night shift team. The ideal candidates would be flexible, enthusiastic and have excellent attention to detail. Will support the implementation and manage the Hygiene Cleaning Systems, CIC’s and all other relevant documentation for the factory in order to ensure that the cleaning standards are maintained in line with internal and external Customer and 3rd Party requirements. Will also provide support to the Technical Manager by being directly responsible for the supervisory day to day running of the Hygiene Department and to be accountable for both the delivery and quality of the team’s work.
Hours - Monday to Friday 22:00-06:30
Pay - £18.81 per hour
Key Role & Accountabilities:
- Reporting directly into the Technical Manager.
- Hygiene Operatives to report into the Hygiene Supervisor.
- Working closely with colleagues from all other departments to support and drive through the high cleaning standards expected and to look at continuous improvement within the team and systems.
- Effective communication into the Technical Manager.
- Supervise and manage the Hygiene Operatives and liaise effectively with others in all departments, adopting a positive, approachable ‘can do’ attitude.
- Compliance with 2nd and 3rd party standards relevant to cleaning, which enable the site to maintain accreditation and the ability to continually supply as required.
- Accurate and timely completion of all relevant tasks.
- Championing all cleaning systems and documents relevant and supporting in driving of quality system improvements.
- Maintaining good working relationships with the rest of the technical team and other key departmental personnel as required.
- Working with the Technical Manager to create, implement and monitor hygiene schedules and cleaning instruction procedures, including deep cleaning and periodic duties to ensure that the facility is always maintained to a ‘fit-for-purpose’ and audit-ready standard
- Being directly responsible for the supervisory day to day running of the Hygiene Department
- Conduct regular audits of cleaning schedules and hygiene standards to ensure standards of acceptability as prescribed by Customer COP’s and audit accreditations, and that microbiological trend analysis are continuously met, challenged and improved upon where necessary or possible
- To be responsible for the stock & order control of chemical and consumables (Hygiene Dept only) whilst working within pre-agreed budgetary limits
- Ensure that all Hygiene staff have been given the appropriate level of training necessary to carry out their work within legislative and Health and Safety guidelines and are provided with the appropriate training in cleaning techniques and the use and handling of chemical
- Review and update the training requirements of the department in line with current legislation and changing departmental operations

Experience / Knowledge:
• Reviewing of relevant risk assessments and safe working procedures.
• Understanding and application of hazard identification and near miss reporting.
• Accident investigation training.
• Understanding and application of Line safety inspections
• Root cause analysis training
• Experience in FMCG or similar environment
• Supervisory experience within a similar role
• IOSHH/COSHH Training
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong influencing skills and a resilient personality
