HR/​People Advisor

Shift Pattern: Monday – Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm (with flexibility when required - we’re open to discussing flexibility around core working hours)

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our developing People team. We are looking for a People Advisor to join our established and evolving team as we strive to create innovative, people-focused HR solutions.

As People Advisor, your passion for the employee experience will shine as you take the lead in managing day-to-day employee relations cases while championing proactive initiatives that prioritise colleague wellbeing. In this pivotal role, you will serve as the trusted resource for all employee relations matters, playing an essential part in enhancing the overall wellbeing of our workforce. You will be instrumental in administering, supporting, and continuously improving our Employee Relations (ER) processes, ensuring a positive and supportive environment for all our colleagues. Alongside this, the People Advisor will build strong, trusted relationships with management teams and develop a solid understanding of the wider business, including active involvement in core manning, vacancy levels and people data trends.

What you’ll be doing

Reporting to the People Partner you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting managers to proactively manage people-related matters including absence, disciplinary, grievance and capability using fresh approaches to engage, inspire, and drive change.
  • Support and improve absence management processes, including the active management of welfare meetings, return-to-work and OH referrals, taking minutes in hearings when needed.
  • Developing the capability and confidence of managers to handle challenges confidently and creatively providing insights and feedback.
  • Daily administering of company sickness register, timely monitoring and processing of return-to-work interviews, self-certifications, and fit notes.
  • Drafting and reviewing letters and other relevant documents as necessary.
  • Producing and analysing key people metrics to identify trends and recommend proactive measures.
  • Supporting and leading on people-focused initiatives that prioritises wellbeing and growth to support our colleagues as per the People Strategy.
  • Collaborating with the wider People team and management teams to interpret people data and trends, understanding and actively contributing to solutions around core manning, turnover, recruitment status and leaver trends.

What we need from you

Essential

  • CIPD qualification (Level 5 preferably) or equivalent experience gained in an HR role.
  • Proven knowledge of employment law and best practices.
  • Experience working within a large organisation, with a busy flow of ER work.
  • Demonstrable HR advisory experience (preferably 3 years +)
  • Proficient in UK employment law and keeps abreast of legislative changes.
  • Accurate & detailed record keeping.
  • Tech savvy with advanced Word and Excel skills.
  • A team player committed to achieving collective success.
  • Analytical, highly organised and detail orientated.
  • Resilience and diplomacy, especially in managing sensitive and challenging people issues.

Desirable

It would be advantageous to have experience working within a manufacturing environment with understanding of complex shift patterns.
