About Crown Milling:
Crown Milling which forms part of the multi-million pound Cranswick Plc are an industry-leading, sustainable agricultural feed business, operating 4 feed mills in Norfolk, Suffolk, Lincolnshire and Yorkshire.
Job requirements of Health and Safety Manager:
We are recruiting for a Health and Safety Manager to oversee the H&S function across our 4 feed mills, delivering group H&S policies, strategies and promoting a Safety culture to create a workplace free of risk to health and wellbeing.
You will be based between our Mills in Kenninghall, Norfolk and Hoxne, Suffolk, with regular travel to our mills in Lincolnshire and Yorkshire (with overnight stays required).
Shift Pattern – Monday – Friday, 8am-5pm
Duties
- Promote and deliver the group H&S policies to the Feed Mills.
- Ensure alignment with the group H&S strategy.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant H&S legislation, and industry-specific regulations.
- Identify workplace hazards and implement risk mitigation strategies.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments for all operations.
- Lead accident investigations, root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to H&S, including incident rates, near misses and compliance audit results.
- Generate monthly and annual reports to assess safety performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Conduct regular H&S Audits across sites.
- Responsible for managing the H&S budget.
- Align all sites to meet ISO 45001 management systems certification.
- Implement group-based systems and procedures across all sites.
- Coordinate and chair H&S committee meetings.
What you will need:
- At least 3 years’ experience in a similar position.
- Experience within Agriculture/Milling is beneficial, however not essential.
- NEBOSH/NVQ Level 3 or higher in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent.
- Knowledge and experience in ISO45001
- Experience conducting risk assessments and accident investigations.
