Finance Manager — Hessle, Agriculture

We're looking for an experienced, commercially minded and ambitious Finance Manager to join our growing Finance team. About the Role
As Finance Manager, you'll be responsible for the delivery of accurate and timely financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and compliance activities across a key business within the Farming Division of Cranswick.
Working closely with senior management, you'll provide meaningful financial insight, support strategic decision making and help ensure the division achieves its financial and operational objectives. You'll also play a key role in developing members of the Finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
This is a varied and influential role that requires strong technical knowledge, excellent organisational skills and the ability to build effective relationships across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the preparation review and delivery of monthly management accounts, and Group Finance submissions.
- Review profit and loss accounts, balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis against budget, forecast and prior year performance.
- Produce meaningful management information and reporting packs to support business decision making.
- Coordinate environmental and sustainability reporting, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Lead the annual budgeting process and quarterly forecasting cycles.
- Develop KPI-driven financial models to support short, medium and long-term business planning.
- Maintain and continually improve financial controls, policies and procedures.
- Manage internal and external audit processes from preparation through to completion.
- Support the preparation of corporation tax, VAT returns and other statutory submissions.
- Coordinate financial information required for R&D tax claims and insurance renewals.
- Review and challenge purchase orders and invoices to ensure appropriate control of expenditure.
- Promote effective use of Microsoft Business Central across Finance and operational teams.
- Manage capital expenditure reporting, forecasting and project reviews.
- Maintain the fixed asset register.
- Produce and maintain monthly cash flow forecasts.
- Act as the primary point of contact for banking relationships and payment authorisations.
- Partner with senior managers to drive financial performance and achievement of business KPIs.
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, systems and efficiencies.
- Lead, coach and develop members of the Finance team through effective management and delegation.

You'll be a confident and approachable finance professional with strong technical expertise and a passion for continuous improvement.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Degree educated, or equivalent, in Finance, Accountancy or a related discipline.
- Strong management accounting and financial reporting experience.
- Experience supporting and influencing senior stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong IT skills, including advanced use of Microsoft Excel and financial systems.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Previous experience managing, coaching and developing team members.
- Ability to prioritise effectively and work to challenging deadlines.
