Factory Manager — Slow Cook
JOB PURPOSE:
As a Senior Manager within the business, you are expected to develop, review, and deliver departmental objectives through a process of leading, coaching, and challenging as well as actively supporting and delivering change oriented, activities and projects. Additionally, you will constantly work to demonstrate tangible and sustained KPI improvement.
Main Duties:
- Leading by example, proactively drives and fosters a Safety-First Culture by creating a safe working environment that ensures compliance to all Health, Safety, Environmental and site-specific policies to safeguard the welfare of all personnel on site.
- Works with the Health & Safety function and ensures risk assessments are completed and in date.
- Ensures the highest quality and food safety standards are embedded through the department and standards of hygiene and good housekeeping appropriate to a quality food manufacturer are maintained (GMP) and ensuring correct stock rotations, all with a view to achieving the right 1st time standard.
- Ensures compliance with quality policies and procedures, ensuring standards are met.
- Ensures the manufacture of product to the highest quality standards
- Takes responsibility for all Slow Cook KPI’s such as lines' efficiency, yield, rework, giveaway, waste, line staffing and production volume
- Ensures the achievement of all Manufacturing Services KPI's including those related to throughput, productivity, continuous improvement, quality, safety, maintenance, and environmental control
- Prepares and manages the Slow Cook annual budget ensuring that all planned spend is correctly costed
- Manages the Slow Cook budgets and forecasts to deliver on agreed production volumes, expenditure, and standard costs
- Works with the Operations Manager to identify, submit and then implement suitable capital investment projects to deliver efficiency or safety improvements
Requirements, Experience and Person Specification:
- Group and site induction.
- All relevant site/area policies, procedures, and practises (Including customer specific codes of practice)
- Level 3 in H&S. Either IOSH Managing Safely or Cranswick equivalent.
- Previous experience of FMCG manufacturing operations (preferably food related)
- Proven track record of managing large teams
- Proven track record in cost control, health & safety, management of quality systems and lean manufacturing principles
- Ability to interact with high profile customers.
