Engineering Supervisor
We are seeking an Engineering Supervisor to join our team in GB. Based at our facility, this role plays a vital part in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our production equipment, supporting our mission to produce top-quality British food.
Work Scheduled:
- Monday to Friday - 6:00am – 3:00pm
Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and support the engineering team, ensuring all maintenance activities are completed safely and efficiently.
- Plan, coordinate and oversee planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules.
- Prioritise engineering breakdowns and reactive maintenance to minimise production downtime.
- Ensure all machinery and equipment is maintained to the highest engineering and food manufacturing standards.
- Promote Good Engineering Practices (GEP) and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Liaise closely with Production, Technical, Planning, Health & Safety and other departments to ensure operational efficiency.
- Supervise contractors on site, ensuring all permits to work and company procedures are followed.
- Support continuous improvement projects to improve equipment reliability, efficiency and performance.
- Monitor engineering KPIs, maintenance records, stock control and compliance documentation.
- Ensure all Health & Safety, food safety and company procedures are adhered to at all times.
- Provide coaching, training and development for members of the engineering team.
- Deputise for the Engineering Manager when required.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who has:
- Previous experience in an Engineering Supervisor or Senior Engineer role.
- Engineering qualification (HND, apprenticeship or equivalent) is desirable.
- Experience working within a food manufacturing or FMCG environment.
- Strong knowledge of planned preventative maintenance and reactive engineering.
- Experience working with electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Knowledge of packaging, labelling, slicing and Multivac machinery is advantageous.
- Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
- The ability to work under pressure and make effective decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- A proactive approach with a strong focus on safety, quality and continuous improvement.
