Deputy Logistics & Administration Manager
Deputy Logistics & Administration Manager | Days | B Shift
We are currently recruiting for a Deputy Logistics & Administration Manager, here at Yorkshire Baker. The main purpose of the role will be constantly seeking to improve the Department initiating and implementing continuous improvement programs aimed at reducing costs and improving performance and provide support and cover were necessary to the Despatch Area Manager.
Main duties include (but not limited to):
- Liaise with the Warehouse & Logistics Area Manager on a daily basis
- Ensure Gist call over is done as well as ensuring all other vehicles are organised as required.
- Accurate ordering and De-hiring of Logtek and IFCO trays Highlighting any issues to the Warehouse and Logistics Area Manager
- Ensuring all trays are booked into the factory in the correct manner
- Maintain a monthly report on, late and rejected, and deliveries which are on time
- Ensure Deliveries are booked in on the booking in sheet
- All Paperwork is completed correctly, and any issues highlighted to the personnel compiling the documentation
- Produce and supply all relevant delivery documentation for all goods loaded onto vehicles to be dispatched, to act as a receipt to customers when required
- Organise and ensure picking is completed daily post planning confirmation
- 3PL daily communication, site shuttle and external collections of equipment
- To provide support and coaching to all teams within the despatch function ensuring that they are functioning to optimum levels at all times on a daily basis, ensuring problems are solved or escalated to the area manager in a timely manner
- Highlight any shortages through to the planning team in advance of loading
- Act as the Warehouse & Logistics Area Manager in their absence
Candidate requirements:
- Reliable with a can-do attitude and the ability to prioritise their workload
- Ability to lead a team and communicate effectively
- Experience within the food manufacturing industry, an advantage
- Excellent attention to detail
- Warehouse and Despatch experience
- MHE Licenses preferred (reach trucks, forklift, EPT)
- Good numeric & literacy skills
