Cater­ing Assis­tant (Nights)

Shift Pattern: 10pm – 2am

Working Hours: Monday - Friday

We are excited to be launching a brand-new on-site food truck at Valley Park and are looking for a Catering Assistant to join the team.

This role will support the delivery of a high-quality catering service during night shifts, ensuring colleagues have access to fresh, well-prepared food in a clean and welcoming environment.

What you’ll be doing

As a Catering Assistant, you will support the day-to-day operation of the food truck. Your responsibilities will include:

- Support daily opening and closing routines for the food truck.

- Prepare ingredients and cook a range of breakfast and lunch items.

- Follow standard recipes and portion guidelines to maintain consistency.

- Serve food efficiently, providing a friendly, welcoming service to colleagues and visitors.

- Process payments accurately, ensuring that all transactions are recorded correctly in line with financial control procedures.

- Carry out and record temperature checks in line with company procedures and legal requirements.

- Follow all food safety regulations, including allergen management, cross‑contamination prevention, and proper storage.

- Maintain excellent hygiene and cleanliness of the food truck, equipment, and work areas.

- Adhere to HACCP principles and internal safety procedures.

- Assist in waste management, recycling, and stock rotation (FIFO).

- Report any maintenance, equipment issues, or stock shortages promptly to the Catering Supervisor.

- Any other reasonable requests as instructed by your area supervisor/manager.A full job description is available upon request.

What we need from you

Essential:

  • Previous experience in a catering, hospitality, or food service environment
  • Basic food safety knowledge and understanding of hygiene standards
  • Confidence handling payments and cash transactions
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Reliable and able to work night shifts

Desirable:

  • Level 2 Food Safety qualification
  • Experience working in a fast-paced food environment
