We are looking for an experienced senior category professional to step into a strategic, high‑impact leadership role at the centre of a £360m partnership with one of the UK’s most influential retailers. As Category Marketing Controller, you’ll be the strategic partner to the Account Director — jointly driving category performance, long‑term transformation, and future‑thinking growth across Fresh Pork, Bacon, Gammon and Sausages.

What You’ll Lead on

  • Category Strategy: Own and drive the long‑term category growth vision, championing the future of MFP OL categories.
  • Insight & Foresight: Translate IRI, Kantar, Nielsen, dunnhumby and other data sources into actionable, commercially powerful insights.
  • Retailer Leadership: Become the retailer’s trusted advisor — shaping their investment decisions, category roadmap and growth agenda.
  • Innovation Influence: Play a central role in shaping the retailer‑aligned product development strategy, using trend, consumer and behaviour insight.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a high‑performing team of Category Managers & Executives, fostering an insight‑driven, curious culture.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Sales, NPD, Production, Marketing, Finance and site teams to embed category strategy across the business.
  • High‑Impact Storytelling: Deliver compelling, insight-led reporting and presentations to senior internal and retailer stakeholders.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a strategic, influential category professional ready to step up and own a critical high‑visibility role. You’ll ideally have;

  • 5+ years’ experience at Senior Category Management level within FMCG (ideally chilled/fresh).
  • Strong strategic thinking — able to translate data into growth opportunities and clear direction.
  • Excellent analytical capability across market, shopper and consumer data.
  • Relationship‑building strength at all levels, internally and with retail partners.
  • Confident decision‑making, communication and influencing skills.
  • A passion for food, consumer trends and inspiring others.
  • High standards, attention to detail and a proactive, “can-do” mindset.
