An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Finishing Manager to support our Finishing Manager.
Job Purpose
To lead a team, ensuring safe working practices, compliance with health and safety standards, and efficient operation. The role promotes a strong safety culture, supports legal compliance, and ensures all team members understand and follow company safety policies, systems, rules and procedures.
Job responsibilities of Assistant Finishing Manager:
- Manage full time and agency staff on the unit
- Responsible for the condition of livestock on the unit
- Ensure that animal welfare is in accordance with Company policies
- Responsible for the condition of all equipment fixed and movable on the unit
- Adhere to Company Codes of Practice and Policies
- Adhere to Statutory Obligations - Hygiene, Environmental & Welfare
- Ensure the unit is kept in good, tidy condition
- Ensure the unit remains secure
- Assist in the management of performance and reporting of the unit to designated targets
- Maintain a positive relationship with the landlord (where applicable)
- Provide leadership, commercial focus and direction to the team
- Handle paperwork and keeping administrative records with accuracy
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, quality standards and health and safety standards
What you will need:
- Group and site induction.
- Level 2 H&S or Cranswick equivalent.
- Understanding of relevant risk assessments and safe working procedures.
- Understanding and application of hazard identification and near miss reporting.
- Accident investigation training.
