Assistant Financial Accountant
Cranswick Gourmet Bacon are currently recruiting for an Assistant Financial Accountant to join our Finance team at our Sherburn in Elmet site.
This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and detail-oriented finance professional who is either qualified or currently working towards a professional accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA). The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting financial reporting, controls, analysis, and operational finance activities within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
This role would suit someone who is proactive, analytical, and keen to develop their career within a growing and supportive business.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of weekly and monthly accounts
- Lead the preparation of weekly P&L reporting packs
- Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations and maintain accounting controls
- Support compliance and internal control reporting
- Assist with the development and maintenance of costing models and related systems
- Analyse and report overhead costs and monthly sales performance
- Investigate and explain variances between weekly, monthly, and forecasted results
- Provide financial support and insight to wider business functions
- Produce daily operational performance reports
- Support ad hoc finance projects, reporting, and analysis as required
What We’re Looking For
Essential Skills & Experience
- Qualified or actively studying towards ACA, ACCA, or CIMA
- Strong Microsoft Excel and systems skills
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical ability
- Ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities
- Proactive and able to work independently using own initiative
- Confident challenging processes and identifying improvements
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Positive and flexible approach to work
Desirable Experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Navision or Microsoft Business Central
- Previous experience within FMCG or food manufacturing environments
