ASSISTANT COMMERCIAL/MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT
Shift Pattern: Monday – Friday (office hours)
Working Hours: 37.5 hours
An exciting opportunity has arisen for Assistant Commercial/Management Accountant to join our Finance team.
Reporting to the Senior Management Accountant, this role will be responsible for the integrity of the commercial accounting activities of the business. The Assistant Commercial Accountant will produce timely and accurate management accounting information for the business/auditors in a professional format.

What you’ll be doing
As an Assistant Commercial/Management Accountant you will play a fundamental role in supporting the Finance team.
You will:
Assist with Accounts by:
- Supporting with preparation of weekly trading figures
- Assisting with weekly and monthly stock valuations
- Responding to internal and external audit requests
- Carrying out monthly variance analysis, investigating root cause and providing clear commentaries
- Collaborating with the Senior Management Accountant and Financial Controller to produce forecasts and budgets
Support Commercial by:
- Maintaining weekly and monthly standard cost modelling and variance analysis
- Assisting in the preparation of commercial scenario analysis
- Supporting the operation of open book pricing models with key retailers
- Assisting the Senior Management Accountant with maintaining and monitoring the accuracy of the standard costing system
- Strengthening the preparation of margin reports and monitoring of margins by product
- Providing financial analysis and commentary to support new business opportunities and cost reduction initiatives
Supporting Business Partnering by:
- Maintain day to day partnering with commercial and operational management
- Assisting with PIP project appraisals
- Providing financial and accounting training to non-financial colleagues to help raise financial awareness
- Preparing daily and weekly sales figures
- Providing Ad Hoc support to both Financial Controller & Senior Management Accountant
What we need from you
Essential
- Competent in using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organisational skills and attention-to-detail
- Effective communicator
- A natural ability to get on with people and establish good working relationships
- Has a good understanding of the importance of producing data accurately in a timely manner
- Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
- Ability to prioritise own workload
- Willingness to undertake professional training
- A 2:1 degree in a related subject area is desirable; however, AAT Level 4 will be considered for the right candidate
- A strong desire to continue professional studies is essential
