Job requirements of Abattoir Operative/ Hanger:
We are looking for an Abattoir Operative/ Hanger to join our established team here at Cranswick Country Foods Fresh Poultry in Eye, Suffolk. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the EV/Offal Room, with duties including offal packing and grading of organs.
Shift Pattern – 4 shifts per week on a 3 week rotating shift pattern, 03:45 14:15
Duties
- To support with the general production of our chicken products, duties will include but are not limited to; offal packing, grading of organs and more.
- Hanging will also be required. This is a labour-intensive role and physically demanding as you will be standing for long periods of time. When hanging you will be entitled to the hanging payrate.
- Abiding to Food Safety, Hygiene and COSHH to ensure safe production of our products.
- Duties and responsibilities can change regularly based on the factory needs
What you will need:
- Be self-motivated and able to work on your own initiative
- Enjoy working to targets in a fast paced environment
- Possess high standards of work
- Have a basic level of both written and verbal English
- Enjoy working as part of a team
- Ideally have experience of working within the food production industry, however this is not necessary as full training will be provided
Pay and benefits:
- Rate of Pay - £14.63 per hour (Rate inclusive of a £1 per hour weekly attendance bonus)
- Hanging payrate when required is £17.50 per hour (Rate inclusive of a £1 per hour weekly attendance bonus and efficiency, if met)
