Group Category Marketing Manager

Rachel began working at Cranswick in July 2012 for her industrial placement year, which she completed in New Product Development based at Gourmet Sausage. After going back to university for her final year, Rachel returned to Cranswick as part of our Management Graduate scheme and worked in various departments including Sales & Marketing and Production, to help build up a thorough understanding of the wider business. An opportunity arose in the Fresh category team, which Rachel snapped up, and continued working her way up in category & insight marketing over the next 3 years, working on Sainsbury’s, Aldi, Coop & Iceland accounts.

In May 2018, Rachel moved into the Fresh commercial team as a development opportunity and took the role of National Account Manager across Sainsbury’s and later M&S, working across Sausages, Bacon & Gammon and Fresh Pork. Although a brilliant experience and great opportunity to learn a new skillset, Rachel felt her strengths and passion remained in category marketing and joined the Group Marketing team in her current role as Group Category Marketing Manager in August 2019. Key areas of Rachel’s role include group data reporting, managing category data contracts to support the wider category teams, and identifying food trend & strategic opportunities for the group.
