Business Unit Controller

Natalie joined Cranswick in 2009 as part of the accounts team at our Preston site, whilst she was studying for her Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) qualification. During this period Natalie successfully upgraded the finance system and made significant progression through involvement in large projects across the group. "The company was great, they knew I wanted more and allowed me to invest time in major projects across the company and get involved in key accounts which were customer facing. This all allowed me to streamline the business through earlier involvement with customers."

It was recognised that Natalie had a number of transferrable skills suited to the position, so her name was put forward for the post by senior management. Natalie's understanding of the business gained from her roles in finance, gave her a clear advantage for the challenge of managing a large account. "Cranswick not only gave me an opportunity to progress but they invested the time needed to give me the skills to do the job. I just had to give the dedication and hard work." Natalie is now a Senior Account Manager working with a major retailer. Recognising that there was the opportunity to move between functions across the business has meant that Cranswick retained a valuable member of staff and Natalie benefited from commencing a new and challenging role in which she has thrived.
