Cranswick’s Technical Director Jackie Carter helps launch Meat Business Women’s ‘One to Watch’ competition
This week, Cranswick Group Technical Director Jackie Carter and her colleagues on the Meat Business Women committee launched their ‘One to Watch’ competition.
‘One to Watch’ is an annual prize awarded to a female graduate under thirty who has been working within the meat industry for up-to 5 years. The prize has been established by Meat Business Women, a committee founded with a mission to make the image and culture of the meat industry more attractive to female talent.
This prize is for an inspirational female who has made an incredible impact in her place of work during a very short period. The prize for the ‘One to Watch’ award is a place on the ‘Women Leaders’ course at Cranfield University (worth over £4,000), in addition to selecting one of the Meat Business Committee as a mentor for 12 months.
The award aims to assist Meat Business Women in achieving their objectives to inspire, network and grow the pipeline of female talent within the meat sector, with the goal that this will make the industry more attractive to other graduates, especially females.
Founded in 2015, Meat Business Women is run on a voluntary basis by a committee of six women, all of whom are extremely passionate about showcasing the meat industry as a great place to work.
Judging will take place in July, with the prize presented on the10th October at ‘Meat Business Women…The Conference’ at the Crown Plaza NEC.
Jackie Carter has worked for Cranswick or over 25 years and sees a real role for Meat Business Women in improving mentoring opportunities for graduates.
The award was launched at the latest Meat Business Women event in London. Speakers and topics at the event included:
