Cranswick support LEAF’s Twelfth Open Farm Sunday

On Sunday 10th June, Cranswick supported Co-op teams at Open Farm Sunday welcoming hundreds of members of the public to a mixed arable and poultry farm in Shropshire.

A Co-op Irresistible Sausages stand was set up, with the aim to allow the public to taste some finest Hampshire cross outdoor bred pork sausages.

Richard Riley, Agricultural Manager, said, “We were thrilled with how well the day went. Our team did a fantastic job preparing and cooking the sausages which went down a treat. It was great to be able to serve the public delicious, British produced food whilst educating them on where their meat comes from, whilst they were stood on the farm.”

LEAF Open Farm Sunday gives visitors the opportunity to see first-hand all that farmers do and the impact they have on our lives.

This was the twelfth annual Open Farm Sunday organized by LEAF, whom have provided thousands of school children and members of the general public with the opportunity to visit a farm and discover the world of farming.
