Cranswick lead the way in animal welfare standards across pork producers

Cranswick has been awarded a high rating in the recent Business Benchmark on Farm Animal Welfare (BBFAW) report. The UK based food company was placed within tier 1, demonstrating that it is seen to have animal welfare ‘integral to business strategy’. This is the highest grading awarded to any company in the pork production sector, with all competitors being placed within tiers 3-6.

A total of 80 companies were included in the report, which provides an account of how animal welfare is being managed by leading food companies around the world. The development of the Benchmark is funded by Compassion in World Farming and World Animal Protection, and is the first global measure of animal welfare standards.
