CRANSWICK FUNDRAISE £60,000 FOR HULL 4 HEROES TO BUILD A HOME FOR A VETERAN AND THEIR FAMILY

On Friday 6th May Cranswick Country Foods, Preston presented Hull 4 Heroes with a cheque for £60,000!

Last year, the team at Cranswick Country Foods set out on a bold mission to raise £60,000 in 12 months, the sum of which will pay for a house in the Hull4Heroes Veteran’s Village Build Project. Teams across three sites have spent the last 12 months climbing mountains, throwing themselves out of planes, camping out and internally fundraising to raise this incredible amount.

The Hull 4 Heroes Veterans Village project aims to develop a self-sustaining site for the housing and rehabilitation of ex-service men and women. This will provide a unique place to provide support to those individuals requiring help when adjusting to civilian life. Along with our supporters we hope to create the world’s first purpose-built centre that will provide a safe and stable platform for veterans, where they can create a happy and purposeful live for themselves and their families in civilian society. The Veterans Village will provide 48 housing units with single storey lodges for single people and couples. The Village will provide housing for up to 120 ex-Service personnel and their families.

Darren Andrew, Operations Director at Cranswick Country Foods, said:

“We are very proud of everyone across the business who has pulled out all the stops to achieve such an important fundraising target for our partners Hull4Heroes and the pride everyone took in showing their support, from Senior directors to our shop floor colleagues. As a Hull based business, we recognise it is important for us to work with our local community to support great charity work like this and are pleased that we will have a meaningful legacy once the Veterans Village House is built whilst we continue to support the charity going forward. It also opens the door to tap into local talent and provide veterans with an opportunity to start a different trade whilst integrating them back into the working world”.

Paul Matson, CEO & Founder of Hull 4 Heroes, said:

“This is absolutely amazing. A large local company like Cranswick being on board is fantastic for the local community and the fact that money has been raised by the employees themselves is testament to such a great company. Cranswick will now hold a legacy in our Veterans Village by providing a home for many veterans and their families in the years to come”.
