Cranswick donates laptops to families unable to access learning

Cranswick Convenience Foods at Valley Park, Barnsley, has donated their unused laptops to local school children in need of them for home learning during lockdown.

Aware of the huge shortage of laptops and the challenge this presents to accessing remote education, they’ve teamed up with their local secondary school, Netherwood Academy, to donate unused laptops from the site.

According to Ofcom, between 1.1 million and 1.8 million children do not have access to a laptop, desktop or tablet at home, which suggests the government scheme may not be enough. We are pleased to be able to fill a small gap, and encourage our networks to do the same.
