Community food heroes: working with EMS

Thanks to our Hull Food Save Project, we developed very close ties with EMS, a community-focused company. They work with families living in poverty, providing affordable food to residents who have bare shelves in their homes.

In recent weeks, we've joined forces with multiple Hull companies and organisations to strengthen support for the fantastic work EMS is doing. Not only have they packed and delivered just over 1000 food parcels for east Hull residents, but they have also continued to prepare fresh meals.

Jan Boyd, CEO of EMS, said, "Food charities like EMS have given out much more food than usual recently. Thanks to companies like Cranswick who have stepped up even more than usual, we have been able to provide essential food parcels and make fresh, locally produced meals which are having a real impact on people's lives at such an awful time."

We are so impressed with the meals the EMS chefs make using ingredients from Cranswick and other businesses, from roast dinners, gammon joints with mash, mixed grills, sausage pasta, noodles to curries.

Thank you to Jan, the volunteers and our Cranswick Changemakers for providing a vital lifeline to families affected by Covid-19.
