'Bangers & Dash' Team Complete Charity Challenge for Bloodwise

On Saturday 10th June, a group of 4 Cranswick employees raised £2,129 as part of the gruelling Samworth Charity Challenge.

The team, consisting of John Leonard, Matt Briggs, Andrew Toon and Dan McCormack, endured an 8.9 mile run up Skiddaw Mountain (3000ft of climbing), a 4.5 mile canoe row and a 20 mile bike ride whilst having to navigate an obstacle course in a bid to collect points along the way.

Team Leader, John Leonard, said “It was a challenging course, particularly with the weather against us, but raising money for a worthwhile course kept us going. We will be back again in two years’ time with the ambition of winning – this is a call to all Cranswick triathletes for the 2019 team!’

Bloodwise, formerly known as Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research, fund world-class research and provide support to patients and families affected by blood cancer. Despite poor weather conditions, the ‘Bangers & Dash’ team successfully completed the charity course, located in Keswick, Lake District.
