Cranswick is a leading UK food producer with revenue approaching £2 Billion. We produce and supply premium food to high profile UK grocery retailers, the food service sector and other UK and global customers.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Transport Administrator/Planner to join the Transport Team at Cranswick Preston. The purpose of the role is to ensure the efficient and effective running of any planning and administrative work associated with the Transport department, under the guidance of the Transport Manager.

Main Duties Include (but not limited to):

  • Collate daily traffic plans to maximise space availability and vehicle utilisation, and to reflect accurately information received from the sales team
  • Issue the above traffic plans to the despatch / KGD team in a timely and well communicated manner
  • Develop communication with sales and production personnel across the site ensuring clear channels of communication and sharing of appropriate information
  • Make the Samples/Courier bookings
  • Maintain good communication lines between Preston, KGD and Goole for inter-site stock movements
  • Update and maintain the daily customer booking spreadsheet
  • Monitor and administer records of company equipment as controlled by the Transport team
  • Update and maintain the vehicle defect reporting and rectification log and take appropriate action to remedy any safety requirements
  • Deliver on key performance indicators
  • Improve processes and practices within the department

What We Look For:

  • Experience in a similar role: transport admin, transport planner
  • Previous experience of FMCG manufacturing environment (advantageous)
  • Strong level of computer skills (Microsoft Office – Excel, Word etc)
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills and confidence to interact with various management levels
