Slow Cook — Process Con­troller ( B Shift) ‑4 on 4 off shifts, Days

Job Purpose:

Conducts Safety and Quality Checks across a number of lines to ensure ‘right 1st time’. Ensuring products exceed customer expectations whilst adhering to all required standards, meeting, and exceeding quality standards, achieving targets on time and in full, within budget behaving in a safe manner, ensuring Food Safety and maintaining hygiene standards.

Main Duties

  • Arrive at workstation 30 minutes before start of shift
  • Conduct Safety and quality checks across a number of lines, Ensures weight checks are completed and are within specification tolerances ,Ensures Gas checks are completed to specification standards
  • Ensure CCP checks are completed and are the importance of a CCP within the manufacturing process is recognised by full Line.
  • Failures should be escalated to the Line Leader and Area leader to decide on action required such as stopping the line, Conducts regular visual checks and feedback to the Line Leaders
  • Ensures Photo standard as are visible, Ensure all Quality and photo standards are up to date and represent the current requirements
  • Complete line operation, product and process quality checks, Complete paperwork accurately and at time of checks
  • Ensure Line Leader and Area leader are aware of any quality issues, Complete an effective handover to next shift, Maintain and adhere to Food Safety standards at all times,

Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices such as:

  • Hand washing, PPE requirements, Changing procedures
  • Clean as you go, Comply with all hygiene standards, Only operate equipment, machinery, and tools where training has been provided
  • Adhere to all quality standards, Follow all Standard Operating procedures, Achieve the production plan
  • Participate in multiskilling through job rotation, Support other areas of manufacturing when directed
  • Complete paperwork within the required standard, Provide support and mentoring to new colleagues
  • Always maintain standards of conduct and performance in the workplace including time keeping and following absence reporting procedures, Any other reasonable request
  • Key Skills
  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred
  • Successful completion or willing to undertake training in L2 Food Safety and L2 Health and Safety Principle
  • Group and site induction, Understanding of relevant risk assessments and trained as competent to safe working procedures.
  • Understanding and application of hazard identification and near miss reporting
  • Mechanical aptitude, Forward thinking and planning skills, reliable, Ability to work within a team, Attention to detail, Meets QVIP values
